“For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”
Are you burdened by the weight of the world and all that’s in it? You’re not alone if you feel that way. It’s a hard realization when we look at it from the outside looking in. Meaning, when our focus is on the world and the things in it, we can easily get lost or overwhelmed by it all. Either it’s constant worries of what tomorrow may bring, or the never-ending reminders of times we let not only ourselves down but God as well. When we look at our thoughts and analyze where and what they focus on, the truth starts to shine through. If our attention in on the negative or the darkness of worry and regret, it will become a prison cell for our own mind and soul as well.
Thankfully, we have a precious Savior, one who sacrificed His life and took the punishment of our sins upon Himself. He gave you a “key” to unlock that cell you’ve been trapped in by darkness and the spirit of evil. It was His perfect, real, true love that took that pain and punishment we all deserve for our rebellion against the Heavenly Father. Sadly, we’ve all fallen at one time or another, we let darkness rule our thoughts and actions. We have to put selfishness aside and see Gods perfect design. He, out of His great unending love, gave us all free will. That means we can choose our path. You may ask, “Why allow us to have the freedom to do as we will?” The answer is easy, GOD didn’t want to have a creation that was forced to love Him. God wants our love to be genuine. He has seen the darkness enter the angels of old, causing hatred and violence in their spirit. Now we must protect His truth, to love Him and see the truth in His perfect love. We may hear darkness tempting us to choose differently.
Then we must remember the one who gave us life, who set us apart from evil. When we truly give ourselves to Jesus, the battle doesn’t end. It does secure our place with Him, though, with the one who created us in His image. The darkness will whisper through your thoughts, almost sounding like you’re thinking it yourself. Making you question why you would think such a thing or why do I only think negative. Brothers and Sisters, I urge you, see the enemy at the gate! He does have power in this world, but not forever. So be armed with the Spirit of GOD. Know He forgives you for your mistakes. Now turn to Him and honor Him with all you have inside. Remember He is always with you!
Once we’ve given our lives to The Lord, we tend to think “finally it’s over, now life will be easy”. Though please remember, God even tells us word for word in the Bible what is running loose on this planet. Darkness has an allotted time in this world. After trusting Jesus for salvation you have to realize it then helps you see the enemy at the gate. It will bring discernment in your thoughts. You will hear the advisory almost trying to hijack your inner thoughts. Thats when we set up every thought to be judged and make it submit to Christ. Making sure it aligns with His truths. Always remember Jesus is now with you in the battle.
You aren’t alone walking in darkness. Now you have the Light of The Creator helping you. When you dedicate your life to God and trust in Jesus as your Savior, it seals your soul with Him and for Him. Make sure your focus is on Jesus. Not ourselves or selfish ambitions. The one who placed the heavens and earth is asking you to live for Him, will you answer the call?
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”
2 Corinthians 10:5
